The
candidature of Vitoria-Gasteiz as the venue of the 2014 JIA is guaranteed by a
comfortable and friendly city, with services and good connections with the
entire Peninsula. Vitoria-Gasteiz is one of the European cities with greater
surface of green areas by person (about 42 square meters per resident if we
include the extension of the Anillo Verde/ “green ring”). In the Basque capital
you may find more than ten millions of square meters of parks and green areas
to go for a walk or a bike ride. Besides, it is the economic and social centre
of the province of Alava.
